How do I get to El Confital?

It is located on the southwest slope of "La Isleta" (a small peninsula in the northeast of Gran Canaria). You can get there by car, bus, walking, or even by bike, as it is at the northeast end of the Las Canteras promenade. 

Best time to visit

To enjoy a classic day at El Confital, the swell needs to have a northwest orientation, a high period, and light east or southeast winds. These "classic" conditions usually occur between late September and early March.

Skill levels

Only suitable for very advanced surfers. It is a very fast and hollow wave that, with its long and powerful barrels, can make the best dreams come true... or the worst nightmares. It is a wave that breaks in shallow water over a volcanic lava slab. It is only surfable between mid and high tides.

Localism

Yes, especially on classic days. If you want to surf, it is highly recommended to go with someone who knows the wave and the surfers who frequent it.
