Surfspot: La Cicer

La Cicer, named after the former "Compañía Insular Colonial de Electricidad y Riegos", which was the city's second "power plant", is the cradle of surfing in Las Palmas Gran Canaria. The surf spot "La Cicer" is the "home spot" of our surf camp. Just 50 meters away from La Cicer, you'll find our surf school, surf camp, and also our shop.

Where is the La Cicer surf spot?

The spot is located on the west side of Las Canteras beach (beach length: 4 kilometers). This “beach break” is the best spot on the island for all surfing beginners, as well as for those who already know how to surf well. Discover the surf spots of the island of Gran Canaria.

Throughout the year, the spot offers waves of different sizes. Unlike other spots such as El Frontón or El Confital, here the waves break against a sand bank instead of a reef.

At this spot, you will find four different types of breaks. This way, surfers share the space in a good manner.

The spot features perfect waves and the best infrastructure on the island. For example, on the beach, you will find many showers, a dedicated Red Cross station (with all-day service), and also towel racks!

Leisure near the surf spot

Around the spot, you will find people from the Canarian surf scene in many bars, restaurants, and pubs for surfers. After surfing, you can eat well with a view of the sea. At midnight, the famous nightlife of the “Surf Capital” Las Palmas begins. There's partying until dawn! 

The atmosphere in the water is international thanks to many Erasmus students, foreign surfers living in Las Palmas, and the worldwide popularity of the good waves of the "Surf Capital."
